I think its worth pointing out that while most card games go something like this:Draw a bunch of cards and play them out in the following fashion:
- Play card 1 - I gain Y
- Play card 2 - I gain X
- Play card 3 - You lose Z
etc etc...
Which doesnt make it nearly as interesting as how Twilight Struggle plays, which goes something more like
- Look at cards, and figure out which one of them will be the least damaging to yourself
- Play card 1 - I gain Y but opponent gains X
- Play card 2 - I lose Z but gain A
- Play card 3 - Opponent loses B but I lose C
Its more about mitigating the damage, its about world events impacting your opponent more than you.
This makes it a much more strategic game than most card driven games out there.
And yes, like someone else already mentioned.. I would describe this game as an awesome version of Risk coupled with an event driven card game.
