Hallo,

Im new to this game. I played once yesterday and have few questions regarding rules and gameplay. Hope the professionals out there can help me..:D

1) USSR's player wants to do Operations (for example: placing Influences) on USSR's event, the event is not implemented, but are the cards with asterisk symbol removed from the game entirely or discarded to the discard pile?

2) when the mid/late war begins, do the cards from early/mid war deck (respectively) become obsolete?

3) can a player exceeds the Stability number of any country? If yes, do it cost 2 Ops point to influence country that we already controll?
For example: US add 3 more Inf points to UK, which he already controlled them, make it 8!

4) am i allowed to deduct the Influences in a country to the opponent's Inf to make it smaller?
For example: US has 3 Inf points in Cuba and USSR has 2 Inf points. Now, make it 1 US Inf to 0 USSR Inf point.

5) if USSR's player is at the last box on the Space Race Track, can he remove another card to do Space Race's action?

6) am i allowed to hold China card till the end of the game? (to get one VP! Hahaha)

Thanks.

1. Events with asterisks are only removed if the event triggered. Cards aren't removed if they never triggered, or if the requirement for the trigger isn't in place (ie. NATO before Warsaw Pact/Marshall Plan)

2. Cards are never removed from the game unless they were events with asterisks and has been triggered. You can still play early war cards in late war.

3. Over-control is often a good strategy for highly contested regions.

4. You can't make influence points cancel each other. Mainly because you can sometimes lower your opponent's points (coup/realignment/events), which then swings the control of the region back to you. Also, those influence are important for people to spread influence into other countries, as you can only place influences in regions where it is connected to some where that you already have influence.

5. I've never got myself into that position, so I'm not really sure. But I imagine that you can't use the space race action anymore.

6. Holding onto the China card is a 2VP swing. If you didn't have it, your opponent would've gotten 1 VP.
