To spin this thread even further out of control, the rules don't bother me that much. I have had 1960: The Making of the President for years, and played a few rounds of that one, which is why I kept from purchasing TS in the first place. The mechanics are very similar, although both have different aspects in game-play......still, the rules are pretty forward, and much of it I knew already from the other game, so that is no bother at all. And to get to a stage where I will know the cards, that is something that will possibly not happen to me, anyways, as it will not hit the table that often (I'm more for variety than continuity). So I'll never become a good player, but that's alright with me.
BTW, I am nowhere near being a pro regarding Polis, so trying to get strategic tips from me is a lost cause (especially regarding Athens), I would guess...
