Actually, this rule has been argued about and decided in depth. (I am a tournament chess player.) I'm moderately certain that the game is considered drawn in this case if the tournament director rules that a Class C player (by rating) could beat a Class A player in the same position (or something like that; most smaller tournaments don't use this rule). Much like wargames, chess has its own forums. ;D Of course, there's some subjectivity I implementation of this rule, but the original rule still clearly states the power of the TD; further direction is only needed because TDs want to be as fair as possible in such a controversial situation.↧
